by the SPCA or Humane Societies; horses retired from government
service such as police patrol, state or federal parks; horses
used by handicapped riding programs; circus horses; those
used in experiments or similar cases. We are no longer able

http://www.animalarkshelter.org/
Every year in the United States millions
of dogs and cats are abandoned by their owners. Many of these
pets are destroyed by the animal shelters that were founded
to save them. An estimated 20,000 dogs and cats are killed
in shelters and pounds in the Twin Cities area each year.
Unlike other shelters, Animal Ark maintains a "no-kill"
philosophy to animal rescue and adoption. Pets in our care
receive medical attention, training and socialization. The
largest no-kill shelter in the Twin Cities, Animal Ark serves
more than a thousand pets each year.

http://www.horizonfuelcell.com/
In 2003, a determined team of entrepreneurs,
scientists, and engineers from around the world joined forces
with a mission to introduce commercially viable, clean hydrogen
fuel cell power. Adopting a global approach from the start,
the newly formed international team founded Horizon Fuel Cell
Technologies in Singapore and established its production facilities
in Shanghai. The company is now expanding internationally through
localized partnerships in Japan, Latin America, North America,
and Europe.
The company's overall vision is aligned with
world, national, and scientific leaders seeking to eliminate
mankind's reliance on carbon-based fuels in favor of clean,
low-cost energy for all the planet's citizens, generated from
climate-friendly and renewable resources. By choosing the heart
of the world’s fastest growing economy as a main base
of operations, the company is at the forefront of change and
a prime witness to world-scale energy and environmental challenges.
In addition to achieving a series of technological
breakthroughs, Horizon has built a comprehensive technology
and manufacturing platform capable of viably introducing fuel
cells into early commercial markets. After providing a first
glimpse of its possibilities with the successful worldwide launch
of its first fuel cell powered consumer products, the company
has now emerged as a world leading producer of high performance
PEM fuel cells and electrolyzers.
Today, Horizon is producing extremely compact,
lightweight, simple and cost-competitive PEM fuel cells that
are suitable for many specialty and mainstream applications,
including portable power, aerospace and clean transportation
solutions. |

Our dependence on foreign oil forms the intersection
of the three most critical issues America currently faces:
the economy, the environment and our national security.
There is a Solution
America is blessed with the world's greatest
wind power corridor and abundant reserves of clean natural
gas. The Pickens Plan will utilize these tremendous resources
to build a bridge to the future — a blueprint to reduce
foreign oil dependence by harnessing domestic energy alternatives
and buying time for us to develop even greater new technologies.
